I own a widebeam. I cannot navigate the whole system, but CRT charge me more for a licence than a narrowboat which can. They suggest the extra charge is for the luxury of having extra living space. I have always paid a full licence, knowing full well that I could not use the whole system, I did not complain about this, I happily paid. Now they want myself and others to pay more, even though CRT have no intention of making the canal system ready for widebeam use. It's rather like going to Tescos, paying for a loaf of bread, but only getting half a loaf.
